FE (Fundamentals of Engineering)

The Fundamentals of Engineering exam, under the auspices of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) is a twice-yearly engineering competency exam required of engineering majors at the end of their program as a step toward professional licensure.   • Cost: $125
  • Where: Administered in the Engineering Building unless otherwise specified on your admissions ticket.
  • Scores: Typically availiable within 12 weeks after the exam date.
  • Note: Registration deadlines are more than 7 weeks in advance.
  • Register: at the NCEES website http://ncees.org/exams/
  • When: Upcoming National FE dates:

ISO Quality

Like Kryterion, ISO Quality is a global online test delivery company providing a range of certification and licensure exams for “credentialing bodies and the candidates which they examine” at secure and monitored testing locations throughout the world. Candidates are directed to ISO Quality centers by the credentialing body or “sponsor” that asks the individual to certify or license.   • Register: Register as directed by the test sponsor
  • Notes: Two forms of photo ID required. Primary ID should be a state or federal form such as a driver’s license or passport.

KRYTERION

Kryterion is a global online test delivery company providing a wide range of certification and licensure exams for a number of companies and organizations (referred to by Kryterion as “sponsors”). Test candidates are usually directed to a Kryterion testing center by the company or organization that is asking the individual to certify or license.   • Register: Register as directed by the test sponsor
  • Note: Kryterion requires two forms of photo identification. Primary ID should be a state or federal form such as driver’s license or passport.

Castle Worldwide and TSCS Testing

Castle Worldwide
A global online test delivery company providing a range of licensure and certification exams for “government agencies, corporations, educational institutions, and trade and professional associations”

  • Cost: Varies. Fees set by test sponsors
  • Where: USU Testing Services, University Inn 115
  • When: Time blocks available Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Register: Register as directed by test sponsor
  • Exams: BOC Athletic Trainer Certification, National Interpreter Certification, Sexual Assault Nursing Exam, etc.
  • Notes: Two forms of photo ID required—primary ID should be a state or federal form such as a driver’s license or passport

TSCS Testing
Part of the PAN testing network, “the leading web-based system for the distribution, administration, and analysis of professional assessments, tests, and surveys”

  • Cost: Varies. Fees set by test sponsors
  • Where: USU Testing Services, University Inn 115
  • When: Time blocks available Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Register: Register as directed by test sponsor
  • Exams: United States Postal Service, FBI, Transportation Security Agency; Jones/NCTI, etc.
  • Notes: Two forms of photo ID required—primary ID should be a state or federal form such as a driver’s license or passport

PRAXIS I

Also known as the Computer-Based PPST Test, a test of basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills for K-12 teachers at the program-entry level. Website: www.ets.org/praxis.

  • Cost: $135
  • Where: USU Testing Services, University Inn 115.
  • When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, by appointment.
  • Scores: Mailed approximately 15 days after test date to score recipient. For own copy, students must access the Praxis website.
  • Note: Student ID card is not sufficient identification--requires driver's license, state ID, passport, etc. Be aware that there are occasional exceptions to these dates and times. Also, testing schedules often fill to capacity, so an advance appointment is required to ensure a seat. Walk-in testing is allowed but will not guarantee a spot.
  • Register: online at the Praxis website http://www.ets.org/praxis/register.

PRAXIS II Exams

Content-area proficiency and certification exams in all subject areas of education. See your advisor for all information on which exam(s) you may be required to take and when you should take them. Website: www.ets.org/praxis.

Pencil and Paper Format:

  • Cost: Varies, depending on exam(s) required. See website or information bulletin available in Testing Services, University Inn 115
  • Where: Exams are generally held in the Engineering building, but your admission ticket will have exact reporting location and other information
  • Scores: Scores will arrive approximately 5 weeks after exam date
  • Note: Registration deadlines are 5 weeks in advance of the test date. All registration must be done through the test company’s website. USU Testing Services cannot register you for Praxis II exams
  • Register: online at the Praxis website http://www.ets.org/praxis/register.
  • When: Seven dates each year—upcoming dates are listed below:
    • September 22, 2012
    • November 3, 2012
    • January 26, 2013
    • April 13, 2013
    • June 8, 2013
    • July 20, 2013

Computer-Based Format:

  • Important: A select few Praxis II exams have moved to computer-based format. For example, the Elementary Education Content Knowledge Test (#5014) is now available this way. See this link at the Praxis website for a complete list of Praxis II exams now available on computer.
  • Cost: Varies, depending on exam(s) required. See website or information bulletin available in Testing Services, University Inn 115.
  • Where: University Inn 115.
  • Scores: Scores are available online approximately 10 to 15 business days after the last day of the 2 week testing window.
  • Note: All registration must be done through the test company’s website. USU Testing Services cannot register you for Praxis II exams
  • Register: online at the Praxis website http://www.ets.org/praxis/register.
  • When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 12:30 p.m., by appointment
